opinions on atlas gold series

I’d like to purchase an Atlas gold series GE Dash 8-40B withsound and the Quantum Engineer controller but first I’d like to hear from anyone who has this combination on their layout and if they are satisfied with it. Although the engine comes with DCC , my layout is DC only . Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciatd. Thanks

I don’t know if on DC if there will be an issue with MUing, on DCC other members have adjusted CVs for slowing other Atlas non sound units to run together better.

I have both and i’m very happy. The sound in Atlas gold is as good or better then BLI.
The Quantum Controller works fine and makes programming easy. You get additional control of other sounds. The controller also works with newer BLI engines.

I bought a 8-40C with sound and I lkie it alot.

ther supose to come out with ta chip to up date the old one so you can download sounds from the internet. they had an ad in the April Model Railroader issue.
