Opinions on Badger airbrush model 250

Hi y’all. Today I’m going to my hobby shop to pick up an order of track, and I’m going to see if i can order an airbrush from them through Walthers (my LHS isn’t listed on their website, but I know he’s a dealer with Walthers), and I was planning on ordering a Testor model A220 airbrush, but looking through my 2008 WAlthers catalog, I saw a Badger airbrush for $25 (carded set, not boxed), and before i sopend money on it, I’m just wondering, what are y’all’s experiences with this airbrush, both good and bad? I don’t want to waste my money on something that won’t work well.

Here’s the link: http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/165-2502

thanks for any feedback!

Better yet check out this knock off of a Badger Hybrid 3155 double action at Harbor Freight, at less than 20 bucks Everyone’s raving about it.

I myself picked up up and found it superior to my $100 Paasche.

You’ll need the braided airhose for it…nother whole 7 bucks

DERN! I ordered the Badger from my LHS this afternoon! Looks like a great airbrush though, I’ll have to remember it.

I use that one from Harbor Freight. Now I don’t think they are in SC. Since I’m from NC, never saw a Harbor Freight till I moved to PA. I’m sure thou you can order it from there website.

I know there ain’t one here in Aiken. Got a link to their website?

Here you go!!

Why’d you bother to post if you weren’t going to wait for responses?

because I thought I’d get some responses before I left for my LHS, but I didn’t.

Thanks for the link robby!

The Badger 250 is an absolute, bottom line basic airbrush. It will yield barely acceptable results on anything other than painting large surfaces. Forget about doing any detail painting this airbrush is not designed to give that kind of control. IMO you would have been better off saving your money and buying either the 350, at a minimum, or better yet a 200 model. Unfortunately, I think you’ll find the 250 to be a waste of money.

Next time you post wanting opinions give more than an hour for responses to the post before going out a buying the item. kids.[sigh]

All I want it to be able to do is lay down an even coat of paint over my locomotives and boxcars, nothing fancy at all. Sounds like it’s perfect for me, from what you said.
