I can’t seem to figure out how to set the filter under options.
I set to to show since last visit and it will give me about three pages of new messages. When I click on “page 2” I get a message saying it can’t display anything because of a filter setting. I have tried setting the options there to show since last visit and nothing happens. The only way I can get past page one is to go to page one and set it to “show all.”
Any ideas?
Options? Options? What options? Somebody day before yesterday was telling someone to go to the bottom of the “trains.com forums” page, go to near the bottom and click on the “options” box. They mentioned there is a “Who’s Online” listing at the very bottom of that page; there is a “Who’s Online” listing there but for the life of me I can’t find an options box anyplace there.
There is an “options” box near the bottom of the “General Discussion” page - its adjacent to the right of the “post” box - but I can’t highlight it and I can’t click on it. Now I went through college with a 3.52 GPA; I was always considered to be a crackerjack computer programmer although I will admit to being a much more competent coder than as an analyst - don’t laugh; I could almost always take an analyst’s code and cut his number of lines of code by 10-15% - I got paid very good money for doing just that; this forum, however, is making me feel absolutely incompetent and stupid. Question: what word best describes an analyst? Answer: overpaid!
Remember that old: I cut out smoking; I cut out drinking; I cut out chasing women; now I’m cutting out paper dolls? Ever since this new forum came up four days ago I’ve been cutting out paper dolls.
Still broken. When I set the filter, the bottom of page 1 says “Page 1 of 3” and “84 items” Then I go to page 2, and it says “page 2 of 1” and nothing to display. Must be something screwed up in the counter. Also screwy – I had to sign out to view past page 1, even after removing the filter. Then when I went to sign in again to post this, it showed me as still signed-in? I’m a retired programmer/analyst/systems manager, too. While WE aren’t paying for this, it seems to me that whoever got paid by Kalmbach took them for a ride . . . and not on a railroad!
Same problem continues for me, only way I can view more than page one is to reset the options to view all posts.
We must be the only ones using the filter based on the lack of suggestions.
