Options for handrails on Athearn BB C44-9W ??

Are there any aftermarket handrail options for an Athearn bluebox c44-9w? I can’t stand those metal handrails.

I would try Smokey Valley. I have used them for other BB models. They are as good as on a brass engine if you take care with the installation. If the rails are not one piece, bend your own from brass and solder at the stanchion.

Yes you can order the plastic handrail set for the RTR C44-9W since the RTR C44-9W is the BB locomotive.They are back ordered at Horizon so you may need to look around for them.

You might buy about ten of the plastic/rubber handrail sets as they will break as fas as you can install them.

Yeah,I keep a stock of Athearn and Atlas handrails because both break if you sneeze on 'em!

No,I break mine during routine maintenance.

I have a love/ hate relationship with these spaghetti thin handrails.

[#ditto] They look good, but are flimsy. Certaint types of glue will hold them though, so I use some of my broken ones or parts made from the same material to make stuff I need. (like an real RR)
