Orange County Register: The Inland Empire shouldn’t be treated as a dumping ground for the bullet train

CA HSR would require BNSF to move some Hobart/Commerce intermodal operations to Colton

I wonder if they also object to the jobs that will be “dumped” there or the additional tax revenue?

I sometimes believe some of these local “leaders” have something analogous to a medieval mind set - build the castle, surround it with a moat, then settle down to keeping the barbarians at bay.

Well, I mean, you’ve got the futuristic trains, the 80’s trains, and vintage trains all in one town (Perris), that’s good

So … BNSF’s original plan called for expanding San Berdoo by relocating the Auto Ramp in town, converting that facility into a IM ramp. Where in Colton is land available to build a facility? Commerce IM Ramp from what I understand has typically been used as overflow for Hobart. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Help me out here.

The article talks about LA-SF travel. But my understanding was that the plug had been pulled on all of the project except for one isolated inland section which, I thought, did not connect to LA or SF.
