I just ordered Model Railroad Planning 2010 online from this website. My confirmation email contains the following statement:
Issue Date: January 01 2010 - You should receive your issue about a month after this date
Is this correct? Will I really not be receiving my issue in the mail until around February 1, 2010? This seems odd, since I am sure it will be in stores well before then.

Yes, they will mail it to you around February. I’ve pre-ordered some of their special addition mags 6 months in advance before recieving it. At least they give you a date when it will be released and usually follow thru with it . Try getting some of the new and special run MRR cars and locomotives in a reasonable amount of time. I waited 1 and a 1/2 years on a list for the new MP15 AC and DC from Atlas and Athearn before recieving it and it was 2 months past the time they said they were going to release them before i actually got them in the mail…chuck

In my experience, that’s about right on a pre-order, and I’d guess they cut themselves a little slack on the time line to be safe.
I recently ordered a back issue and it arrived in 4 days to California, which tells me they have a pretty efficient procesing/mailing room. If only my subscription would arrive that fast… [:)]
FYI, our official on-sale date for the new Model Railroad Planning is 26 January, 2010. Pre-ordered and hobby shop copies will all have been shipped well before that date. I’ve been working on it all this week, and I can tell you that it’s right on schedule.
