Ore Car review

Does anyone have any reviews handy for the Tichy Train Group 22’ ore car, or the Westerfield PSC ore car? Are they easy to build, how do they look, things like that? I’m trying to decide which to build I can get them both for about the same price they’re within 10 dollars of each other. Thanks guys. Dave

Since nobody has any experiance with those particular cars, how about any information about Tichy Traing Group, or Westerfield? I’ve also just found Trout Creek Engineering, does anyone have anything info aobut them too? Dave

Tichy train group models are pretty cool. I can’t vouch for accuracy ,I haven’t seen the prototype, but if you like to build kits that are a little involved then Tichys are for you. Westerfeild cars are great for fine detail and all ,but,be prepared to do cleanup and careful fitting. Westerfeilds are nice for the older prototype representations and for the more unusual subject. Westerfeids are also a little expensive at full retail but if you can get a good price somewhere go for it.

I have assembled several of Tich Train’s products and have found them to be great if you take your time and read their instructions. I have assembled two of their cranes and four of their hoppers cars and found them to have very good castings with little or no flash to clean.[:)] Jim

i’ve built a couple of the tichy ore cars and they’re a really nice kit but you don’t want it to be the first kit you ever build . it’s a smaller , older ore car than anything else i’ve seen , it’s a model of a wood construction car , the westerfield (just checked their website , nice looking car!) is a model of a steel car

Everyone thank you for the info. I think I’m going to buy the Westerfield cars. I might buy one or two of the tichy cars to have heavily weathered and spending their last days among the weeds at the far side of the yard. Dave
