I love Talgo’s and can’t wait to see them in service
Are these the trains that came courtesy of Wisconsin Governor Walker?
Mr. Bates, no, these were ordered by Oregon. The Wisconsin trains remain homeless.
Wonderful news these passenger train sets being put into service but I have to chuckle. Germany orders severa hundred train sets to be spread over 2-3 years delivery and the USA takes deivery of 2 (two) train sets… OH MY! must be lots of roads to no where that need fresh overlays of asphalt, that is where we spend our transport funds!!
These are the ugliest trainsets you’re bound to see riding the rails. They’re even uglier than the old Pennsy GG electrics.
Be honest, the trainsets can only be called “The Ugly Express.”
Congratulations Oregon you have again stepped out in front of most of States. Keep good work.

Joseph, these train sets were purchased by the state of Oregon, NOT the United States. I don’t know why any country would need to by several hundred train sets in over 3 years. I would also presume this is a once in a several decade move by Germany.
I kinda liked the old GG1’s.
Will the Mt. Bachelor trainset have a designated singles car? Just asking…
Are the revenue riders going to be enough to eventually cover the acquisition and operating costs?
I wonder: will the use of these two trains make it possible to have only Talgo equipment in use between Vancouver and Seattle? The last two times my wife and I rode between these two cities our Business class reservations were canceled because the Talgo equipment was unavailable.
I have to agree with Mr. Bean that the Mater cab cars ARE ugly. However, the passenger cars themselves, are true beauties !!
Mount Bachelor? Our Oregonian friends have a fine sense of humor!
