I wasn’t sure whether to put this here or on the MR boards, but technically it’s not modeling and I guess a lot of people check both. I was wondering if anyone else out there collects the yearly train ornaments that come out? I mention this because I do and this year’s caught my eye especially, a NYC FT and two passenger cars. I usually wait to get these as gifts, but I impulse bought the engine as I couldn’t resist. If anyone hasn’t seen it yet then this could be a heads up, it looks really nice, largely due to the lightning stripe scheme.
I do pick up the Hallmark ones every now and then. They do a really good job with those things. Here is the locomotive of 2008.

Yep, I’ve got all of the ornaments. Wasn’t able to put up the ones from last year though due to having no place for a tree. Two cats in the kitten stages kind of discouraged that idea.
Since I’ve gotten my office cleaned and reorganized, I’m thinking of putting the tree in there this year so it’s behind a closed door where they can’t get to it. I’m going to be doing the same with my Lionel set too.

We have one that has our local depot on it. we also have some hallmark and chessie ornaments too.
