Did you laugh out loud like I did, when the police vehicle turned on the lights and started chasing the aiplane?

Sorry, Murph–I didn’t laugh. Landing one of those in the tight confines of the highway (note that he damaged a wing on a signpost) has to be tricky, and dangerous for any cars that happened to be in the area. I am pretty sure that the video we saw came from a police car as well. They apparently had a bit of notice that this was going to happen.

Having driven this highway fairly often in the years my daughter was attending college in Appleton, I find it pretty scary. Don’t know what I’d do if I saw anything like that coming up behind me.

The pilot did everything right, from the looks of things.

Wow, truely amazing. Thank goodness no one got hurt.

Do a search for a video called “405.” It’s hilarious, and exactly what you suggest.

Carl-my Dad flew small planes when I was very young. One of several of the co-owners of his plane put it down in a hayfield emergency situation. I wasn’t laughing about the plane, I was laughing about the police vehicle, that seemed to suddenly notice the plane, and take up chase with his lights on. No doubt, this was taken from a police cruiser.

Is that the one where the little ol’ lady gets “scooped up” by the plane? I remember, and you’re right.

There’s a little old lady, but the central character is a guy in a Jeep station wagon…

…who ends up becoming the substitute nose wheel for a large commercial airliner?
