other hobbies, or what is a 37 Fleetwood

for those wondering, I try to keep the same screen name in all the forums I join. it makes it easier. so for those wondering what a 37 Fleetwood is here is a photo of mine. in 1937 Huffman Mfg. made bikes for Firestone. this is one of them. there were very few made as it was a $40.00 bike at a time when you could get a used Model T for around $15.00. I would love to see some of the other hobbies you guys have.

I thought you were talking about a Caddy.

A $500 bike.

Love the double-lights. What’s that 4 wheeled object in the background?

Wow! Nice bike. Never seen a chainguard like that. The headlights are very cool.

I just asked if you were into biking on another thread and stumbled onto this one.

I love the old bikes, but I’m more into the european lightweight racers, old track bikes, 5-10 speeds. But a classic American mount always puts a smile on my face.

I can remember the local Firestone store was filled with bikes in the summer, and TRAINS in the winter. Oh, and they sold a few tires in the back. [:D]

BTW, this was in the 40s & 50s.

Hi, I’m not sure I understand the $500.00 bike comment. do you mean new adjusted for inflation?

As for its value now, I paid that much for the chain guard and rear reflector.

In the background is a friends '41 Chevy panel and in the other is a '48 Chrysler.

The bike is not quite done but is almost completely correct.

The goose neck needs to be corrected but at $400.00 for a reproduction, it is on hold for a while.

I collect mostly Prewar Huffman made bicycles and this one was made for Firestone.

The big deal about this bike is the rear end which is different from any other bike made.

thanx for the kind comments.

Yes, $40 inflated to todays money.

I also love to build models of classic American Muscle Cars, but I got tired of building them because they wouldn’t come out with any new Mustangs that interested me, like a 1968 428 Cobra Jet Mustang, or an Eleanor Mustang.

I play with a '69 Plymouth road runner in the summertime.

How about a '51 Henry J gasser?

Or a '59 Impala crusing vessel?
