The stuff I play you would NEVER let a child see! [:0]
I don’t do it much anymore, but my old axe is a Fender Jaguar from the '60’s. Got a Gibson from that era, too. Now, my daughter is learning to play.
Well with the possibility of getting thrown out of this forum I will share. I have two other hobbies that take up much of my time. Ar-15’s and Tomahawk/knife throwing. No I am not a psycho I promise. I spent 23 yrs in the military and grew up with guns. Spending a day at the range throwing lead downrange is good for the soul. As far as Hawk throwing…It is a blast and not that difficult to learn. Living around all these hurricanes lately I have an unlimited supply of wood slabs for targets.

Outside of model trains and railfanning, my family and I like to travel (Western Canada and Japan last year), I enjoy photography (favorite subjects beyond trains are close-ups of flowers and barns) and I play synthesizers in my church’s worship band. Here’s the keyboard rig:

Clockwise from lower left: Ensoniq SD1, Alesis Ion, Roland JV1080, Behringer MX602A mixer.
I play purcussion for Westminster High school symphonic band and for Dark Horse Purcussion. I also enjoy woodworking, and I guess you could consider the Volunteer Fire Dept. a hobby
Aggro, did you start with Larry the Lounge Lizard? That goes back a few years, and certainly six or seven before I began to use computers, but I recall someone showing me the various settings for Larry. They were riskee for their time, but I am fairly certain you are a quantum leap beyond that.
pcarrell, thanks for your return and affirmation. It is true, isn’t it, that we have all done so many different things, well, and we can still find the time to commiserate with each other and be civil about it 99% of the time. I feel like I have an extended family here.
Speaking of Quantum Leaps, does anyone remember the TV show about Sam and Al, jumping through the spans of time? My dad has it on DVD.
The other mistress is photography and we’ve been seeing each other for over 40 years.

She’s a very expensive pastime also.

My other hobbies are
working on cars ( The Jetta)
car knowledge ( I read too many magazines on them[:p])
RC cars( my RS4-3 and T-Maxx)
computer/video games (sims 2, sim city, GTA )
and Lego building (don’t laugh)
You have a Tmaxx? Wow
I must be a very old-fashioned not-quite-fifty year-old:
Bridge (both kitchen-sink and tournament);
Poker too;
Photography in general, esp. action and candids;
Movies, more old on DVD or revival house than brand new;
“Critters” (small animals);
Read like a fiend and like to collect good-looking “spines”;
I used to commit free-lance journalism a lot but health and other issues have pretty well nixed that for the past two years. [?]
al-in-chgo (Rogers Park neighborhood)
I play guitar. I have an acoustic and an electric Squier Strat. I also like to draw and ride my bike. And I like to read books.

Forgot to say that I do Legos too!
The more two-by-eights, the better. Don’t like the building pieces that are so overspecialized; the kind that only make action figures or vehicles.
You got a problem with that? [#ditto][#ditto]
I also collect coins; right now I’m specializing in Buffalo nickles, Liberty Dimes, and modern one-ounce of all kinds (Canadian Maple Leaf, U.S. Eagles, Aussie “Kooks,” etc.) [2c]
I am into a lot of things. I love to target shoot, motorcycling, playing bass, playing tuba, fishing, digital SLR photography, my dogs, my snake, and electronic work.
Snake!? YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! What species and how long is it?
Crandell- I am unfamiliar with ‘Larry the Lounge Lizard’. I have games like Grand Theft Auto, Grand Theft Auto 3, and Perfect Dark. For N64 and PS2 only.
I have perfect dark…I can’t seem to beat the skeedar level where you have to beat their king
Great shots Jarrell, the wasps are incredible. Do they mind you poking a big lense into their business?
Even with all the cheats turned on, I STILL can beat that either.
I am into golf, bowling, hunting, and anything to do with the outdoors. I am just getting started in model railroading, and it is already taking over as predominant hobby. someone needs to start a support group. railroadaholics anonymous…lol
