I have not visited this sight in a while. I got caught up in the -eke stuff[B)] and it sent me away for a while. But the holiday season being around the corner has resparked my interest in the Hobby. I know the core groug of guys that are on this sight are great so please accept me back in.[:)]
I will accept you back in but can you tell me the locations of the remaining Reading T-1 locomotives and their road numbers?
I know the location of at least two of the T-1’s and have a photo of one at home, taken at the actual location of one of the T-1’s. Reading had a single piston T-1 and Pennsy had a duplex T-1.
Look, Im just A simple guys who spends to much money on model trains. I just like the Reading name because I like the colors of there steam engines. (All Black) and I can spell it.[:D]
I love those Reading engines. I’ve just been re-reading an article on them in something called Trains Classic from 1999. I’m glad you’re here and contributin’ - what are you thinking of doing this holiday season. I’m all fired up to redo something to run Lionel’s Thomas and his brother engines in something resembling a British prototype layout from their age 'o steam.
Thought that I would wait a couple of days before telling you that there were 30 T-1 steam locomotives converted from another style steam loco at the Reading shops in Reading PA, road numbers 2100 to 2129. Also there is one T-1 on display at Steamtown in Scranton PA, and maybe one T-1 # 2102 in the shop area being repaired.
It may be nice to have a holiday layout but having a year round layout is much better, that way I can add to it too!
I will have a simple loop of track around the tree for sure. I hope to in the future start a layout in the basement of my barn. This will most likely be in a year or 2. I need to get some heat out there first.
