Overland Chaasis and Sound Decoders

Hi All,

Can anyone please tell me what sound decoders are available for Overland SD60, GP 60 and B23-7 Chassis ?
I have checked the net but nothing came up.

All the best,

Kristian. [:)]

Kristian,

I’m just a DCC newbie, but from what I’ve read you can install a Soundtraxx DSX and DSD decoder in just about any HO unit. If their is no plug or pin on your unit for a decoder can be "hard wired in, or NMRA type plugs can be installed on the locomotive and decoder wires.

Don’t hesitate to contact the experts and ask. Both of these guys are pretty good at returning replies.

Hi,

Thanks for the info. I have e mailed both of them and I we will see what they say.

All the best,

Kristian.

Any sound decoder that will fit inside the shell of the locomotive should work. I haven’t done sound with an Overland chassis yet, but I do have an Overland SD45 chassis with a regular decoder in it that works great. I had to hardwire it, as there was no DCC plug, but otherwise there’s nothing unusual about it.
