Did ANYONE ever model the B&O P-7 Pacific, i/e The Cincinnatian or The Royal Blue?
I’ve been a steam fan all my life, and my opinion is the B&O P-7 streamliner is one the most attractive, and the fact that it used to be serviced at a facility only 20 miles from where I now reside, would be an awesome addition to anyones post-war steam collection.
It has been done in brass several times over the last 40 years or so.
Never been done in die cast metal or plastic.
While the Mantua Pacific was based ona P7, it is not only lacking in detail, but has a number of incorrect features do to common parts shared with other Mantua locos.
I was under the impression that the B&O P7 resembled the USRA 4-6-2, similar to what BLI recently released, as well as some of the the old AHM/Rivarossi offerings. The old Manutua was an old school version of a modernized P7, which was acceptable some 50 years ago, but falls short by today’s standards. In any event, the P7 at the B&O Museum looks a lot like the USRA engine.
Keep in mind, I model the PRR so I claim no B&O expertise.[:)]
