P.R.R. N scale Question for Dave Vollmer (and aybody that may know)

Dave,

I know you model the P.R.R in N as I do and had a question that you may know off hand (or anybody else here) I’m looking to strip and repaint an older Bachmann high hood GP in the P.R.R. colors to match the colors of a SD45 I have. It will be fairly simple, it is flat black. (Don’t have to worry about switching colors in the airbrush or masking!) I don’t know where to find the decals for the project in N. I will need the 5 red P.R.R. keystone logos, yellow block cab numbers, the 2 white “F” fronts and little logos on the side of the cab…can’t really tell what they say maybe a “radio” call out?? Do you know where I should start trying to find these? If I can find them I may just get two sets as I have another old Geep shell sitting on my shelf in the train room begging for a makeover. Thanks ----Rob

Rob,

Microscale decal set #60-21, is what you’re looking for. It has the decals for both the Keystone only scheme, and the earlier scheme with Pennsylvania spelled out on the long hood.

Nick

I use Microscale N scale PRR decals (there are lots to choose from). Microscale 60-39 should do the trick. Also look at 60-67. You can probably order them through your LHS or online. Good luck!

Microscale #21 is the hood unit set.
Microscale #39 is the 5 stripe cab unit set.
Microscale #67 is the single stripe cab unit set.

You can order decals directly from Microscale if you wish. http://www.microscale.com/products.htm

Post some pics when you get them done.

Yep, Nick’s right… It’s the 60-21 set you want:
