Hi,
Please, I would like to know if P.RR. ever had, not yellow, but orange box cars, at any time?
Thank you,

First the disclaimer that I do not know for sure but it would have to have been extremely early. It is certainly possible that some cars belonging to lines taken over could have been orange for a time. PRR did use orange on the window sash of passenger cars at.one point.
ndbprr,
Thank you for your reply.
I am attempting to list North American RR’s. with orange box cars of the mid. '40’s, to late '50’s.

In your era (and this would be mostly toward the end of that era), you’d have the Bessemer & Lake Erie, Elgin, Joliet & Eastern, and the New Haven.
Plenty of orange refrigerator cars with railroad-company logos but private-company reporting marks.
I don’t think PRR was in either category, though some of their box cars looked a little orange as their red-oxide paint faded.
They did paint some N5c cabooses dayglo orange but no box cars in that time period.
Thank you both, for your information and the list of orange box cars.
I thought that there were no ‘ORANGE’ color paint scheme box cars of the P.RR., during the mid. 1940’s, to late 1950’s.

What roads do you have on your list? Milwaukee Road had orange freight cars. IHB colors were orange and black.
Never saw orange box cars from either the IHB or MILW. The only box cars IHB had during the era in question were painted very much like NYC’s, in boxcar red. MILW also used boxcar red for its cars, but there were orange URTX reefers with Milwaukee Road logos.
