does anyone know the correct shades of paint for a Providence & Worcester RS3? this will sound stupid, but is there any other shades of white than just white?
Thanks

get the new atlas one
1). BMTrains, that wasn’t very helpful
2). IIRC, the RS-3 P&W paint scheme used “Reefer White”, “Reefer Orange”, and “Roof Brown” in the so-called “hockey stick” scheme. But your best bet by far is to join or visit the P&W modelers list over on Yahoo!. (I think they are still active)
3). AFAIK, while there are many shades of white in “real life” (everything from off white to eggshell to pure white, etc.), in most model railroading terms, “Reefer White” is normal, plain jane white paint.
FYI, the NH FL9’s had, IIRC, 3 different kinds of black paint on them…one for the roof, one for the underbody, and one for the sides of the unit.

only if it costs less than the paint…
is there anytihing i should be worried about when stripping the paint form an old roundhouse locomotive, like what not to put the shell in, etc.?
