Did a subject search but did not see anything directly related. I have a busted cup (the little plastic doobie that links to the ball just before the truck’s gear tower on an E-8. Will any company’s sockts work if they are the same size? Or is this a Walther’s special order adventure?

Is this one of the original runs of the units (1990’s), or is it one of the recent Walthers runs? If t’s one of the older ones, stock Athearn drive parts will work. A-line makes a whole set of driveline parts that have slightly tighter tolerances than Athearn’s: http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/116-12030
If it’s one of the newer runs, you’ll definitely need to conatct Walthers.
