I bought an SW9/1200, and want to remove the cab from the hood and frame for ease of painting, and so I can replace the crew figures that Life-Like put inside. I probably would’ve been easier had I bought an undecorated one, but a nice black NYC engine is as close to undec as I’m likely to get. Anyway, if anyone knows how to disassemble the shell, I’d appreciate your help. Thanks.
Finally figured it out. You press the front part of the cab up, while pushing the entire cab forward to free it from the battery box. I ended up cutting the handrails and the wires to the cab-mounted headlight, unfortunately, but at least the cab’s off now.
