paint 101 ?s

We took a Plasticville inventory last night and noticed that a number of the vehicles are the same color*. “Boring” !!!* Solution: Paint them.

I looked over some past posts. Acrylic seems to be suggested.

Here are the ?s: Brand? Spray or brush? Easy to work with? Easy clean-up? Etc., etc.

As always, many thanks.

You might look into Testors paints that are intended for model cars. These are enamels, come in both spray cans and as bottles. If you are going to split hairs, the pigment in these paints might be a little coarse for O scale.

If you use the spray cans, there is no cleanup. If you brush or airbrush, you will need a solvent to clean up. Generic paint thinner works for this.

Good luck.

Testor’s rattle cans are the best bang for the buck, of course airbrushed auto paints will obtain the finest result. Beware of Rustoleum and other hardware store rattle cans, they can eat plastic. Be sure it is plastic compatible.

Thanks for your replies.
