My Citrus Belt closely follows SP practice, with the recent introduction of an S scale RTR RS11 it got my creative juices flowing, I want to imply the SP connection but not clone a SP example 100% in detail or paint. Research provided the answer that RS11’s were never painted in the various expertimental Halloween or half widow colors or outfitted with oversized ash can signal lights. Should make for some double takes among those familar with the Espee until they spot the Citrus Belt lettering on the long hood ![:O]

With a lash of used steeple cabs, I have ended up with a mix of hood mounted and cab mounted head lamps (North Shore vs. Sacramento Northern). These will be moved to cab mounted (it’s easier to work with, because there is more space).
Poling bars are (F) mounted along the conductors side walkway (these seemed to be placed anywhere where there was room IRL, again because of the mixed origin of the steeple cabs)
All stations have a main and passing/service sideing signals (the proto had none…tells you how sleepy the line was).
Planning to do a fictional unit. Im saying the Monongahela railway purchased two GP40 units, which they never did. Well one was donated to a museum and the other became a leaser unit for my AVDC. She wears the MGA paint, but has been renumbered to 1024 and has AVDC on the patched out number boards. Plus she’ll show her age.
I model a fictional subsidary of the NYC so prototype fidelity is not a big issue with me. I run what I want to run within reason and then coming up with an explanation to justify it. With me it is not using a paint scheme that didn’t exist but running equipment that is wrong for the year I model (1956). My subsidary RR was the last part of the NYC system to fully dieselize so they were getting cast off steam locos from other parts of the sytem. Under this scenario two streamlined Hudsons (one 20th Century Limited and one Empire State Express version) kept their streamlining when in reality the streamling was gone by 1950. They continue to pull some of the premier passenger trains on my layout. I also moved up the date of the Jade Green boxcars and the cigar band logo on one of my F7 sets.
