Paint Choices .

HI

I would like to paint a kit (It is made of plastic and it is a brick wall) but what it the best paint to choose?

I want it to be smooth and not cover the detail of the brick. It should be a brick colour.

Many thanks

You can use basically any “hobby paint”, including “craft” paints. I’ve used just about everything on the market, but generally either use rattlecan Floquil (or Testor’s Model Master), brushed on Polly Scale (my favorite) or brushed on craft paint.

I prefer using PS with a brush, because it self levels very well, eliminating brush strokes (which aren’t all bad for a brick building). It also covers well, even without any primer. I brush paint virtually all my DPM buildings with PS. I do use craft paints a lot (the brand doesn’t matter), and they cover well too, so long as you thin them a little (water), I generally reserve the craft paints when I’m trying to do something odd, like random tans to represent common brick.
