I need a recommendation/suggestion for the safe and effective removal of spray paint from plastic - without marring the plastic detail. Thanks,

91% isopropyl alcohol. It’ll take a while with spray paint and you’ll be doing some scrubbing with a toothbrush but the paint will come off and the alcohol will not harm the plastic.

Thanks, Jeff; will certainly try using alcohol. I’ve read about this method in the past.

If the alcohol doesn’t get it after a day or two of soaking, you might try Scalecoat II Wash Away, available through your LHS and various online sources. It’s a good fallback method.
