what is the best way to paint the many -color (black,red aand gold stripes) areas of a HO CPR steam engine with black cat decals? Whose have experience in that?

I know it’s been a long time since you asked but that there were not replies. I would probably do them with decal stripes or if necessary by a sheet of a solid color (Micro Scale) and cut the stripes. If you really want paint, it’s a lot of masking to get all that on an already painted model and almost as much (due to multiple colors) to do on an unpainted one.
