Painting an FP7 - Question

OK- Got enough track down to try out a DCC locomotive. Purcased the new Athearn FP& with sound - Cotton Belt #306 - Awesome!

So now I am going to repaint and detail toa Geaorgia RR #1003. Has anyone ever paited one of these. Before I start tearing them off do the side vents come off and go back on easily?

I am sure all of the grab rails have to stay on but can you remove the inside windshields and side windows before painting.

Just asking all of this before I begin - I am hoping someone else already has.

Thanks

Larry

does the instruction/parts sheet show these as separate parts? If so they should come off. Last I knew, Athearn did not use adhesives to assemble their trains. There will probably be a couple of snap tabs on the ends to release them. The windows need to come out or be taped over. They should be easy to remove as Athearn windows are usually a one piece casting. Grabs and railings can either be removed or left on…That is up to you
