Painting Small Chimneys

Hi

Currently I am building an Nscale DPM kit. I was wondering how to paint the chimneys without haveing to touch them. The outside is only about 4 mm in diameter and the inside is about 3 mm in diameter. I was thinking of making a t out of square styrene and slitding the chimney on the shorter side of the t.

I usually just paint them when they’re still on the sprue. You could also use just a round toothpick to put them on–it would save on the styrene–

Patience, Grasshopper, patience. Paint one side, let it dry, turn it over and paint the other. If you’re using acrylic, it dries quite quickly. Go to the fridge, enjoy a cool, refreshing beverage, and it will be dry by the time you’ve taken the last sip.
