Painting the deck of a flat car

I’m in the process of painting several flat cars & I was wondering what colour the deck should be painted.

They’re TTX flat cars, modern era.

Do you want it weathered or new? Typically, the paint chips off and you get rust quite quickly. However, it is usually dependant on what is put on the flat car.

I think I’d start off new, then weather it from there!
