Painting Tip

I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else, but from time to time, the Isopropl alcohol I use in weathering washes or cleaning a model will leave a white haze on the underlying acrylic paint. The fix is simple: spray the model with Testor’s Dullcote, the lacquer based clear coat will neutralize the haze and it will dissapear completely. Krylon Flat won’t work as it is an enamel.

Just thought I’d share as this happened to me last night, (again!).

Wish I would have known that about 6 months ago.[:I]

you can use it as a weathering tip also.

by brushing the alcohol onto the dullcoat finish, you can create that chalky/dusty look where you want it. I use it on tank cars to represent the damage to the paint caused by filling spills.

and as before if you don’t likr the finished product, a like spay of dullcote and it’s gone.
