painting.

i use acrylics most of the time, no wait all the time![:D]

Mostly I use Acrylics Model Flex is my choice but sometimes the acrylic version of paint such as metalics dont work as good so I go to solvent based.

Floquil solvent based. Still think it’s the best after 40 some years.
Of course you can also read this “can’t teach an old dog new tricks”.
I’ve used acrylics and don’t like the way they spray.

Acrylics whenever I get a chance to paint!

I use Spray paint. I have a veriety of colors too. I have hard to find colors like cream. I like Spray paint. I never tried airbrushing as it looks a little complicated. Don’t got time for compressors and things. All I need is my painters Blue tape and the spray paint I’m going to use. I think I master painting with spray paint. I’ll put any of my locos that I painted up against any airbrush paint job done by a modeler and some manufactures. It’s all about how you paint and what kind of paint you use. That’s a challange for every one.

Post some pictures![:)]

Ditto!

I’ve switched over to Acrylics. Polly Scale and Badger ModelFlex.

Only exception: Still am using Solvent paints for metalilzing (foundation color must be gloss black or gray) as Alclad II seems to perform well over lacquer…

I am trying acrylic on my current project for the first time. I don’t like the results, but I suspect I did something wrong. Probably needed to use some kind of sealer first.

Enjoy

I have transitioned almost completely over to acrylics at this point. I am very happy with them.

I use both in applicable applications. I, allmost, allways use acrylics for airbrushing and solvants for hand brushing or touch up. I use spay paint for something quick, when I’d have to spend more time doing airbrush prep and cleanup, I have the right color and can spay outside. I spent 6yrs. painting highways and I’d rather not expose my self to atomized solvants anymore than I have to.

Polly Scale rocks man. Something about the way it smells…makes all warm and fuzzy. [:)]

Serioulsy, I like for its ease of cleaning and mixing.
