Has anybody seen an article in MR or any magazine on how to make palm trees? A friend of mine is trying to make some cheaply as opposed to buying them and any info you can provide would help. Thanks.

I don’t know about any magazine articles, but Ron Kuykendall in Tucson, Arizona, made his from bird feathers, dowels, and wire purchased from a crafts store such as Michael’s.
If you can find a copy of Allen Keller’s Great Model Railroads Volume 21 at a local library or some other source, Ron briefly mentions the materials that are used.
The bad news is, Ron doesn’t actually explain or show how they are made, which is so typical of these videos from AK. They always try to cram too much information into a 90 minute video for any of it to be of any real value.
