Pan Am Airways back?

Wow, how are they going to get the trademark logo back? I though it was sold to Pan Am railways? Going to be a lawsuit or negotiation at some point or will they go with a new logo. Even with a new logo I would think the Brand Name would be an issue unless they buy it back.

No there won’t.

CSX owns the Pan Am trademark, for RAILROAD USE. Pan American World Airways, LLC owns the intellectual property rights for non railroad use.

Down south there is a short line that acquired the rights to the Rock Island name and Rock trademark. (Iowa Interstate still has rights to the original RI logo as far as I know.) They have painted equipment in both the red/yellow and blue/white schemes. The equipment looks good.

But it isn’t the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad. Pan Am may fly again, but that doesn’t mean it will be anything like the original beyond looks.
