After taking a much closer look at the motor assembly of my 2025 i came to the conclusion that it was pretty much shot due to the amount of rust and corrosion in the assembly. Could someone please supply me with the correct part #'s for a motor assembly for this engine. I have seen pictures of it with baldwin drivers and with scintered drivers so i am not sure what part #'s i need to replace the motor assembly…thanks all!!
Click here and see if you can find what you need.
Then check The Train Tender for the part.
cabooseboy,
Dave is recommending a good person and parts dealer in Jeff Kane and his: “The Train Tender.”
Good reliable parts, at reasonable prices, if needed, accompanying instructions, great service and Jeff is an honest and friendly person.
I know, I’m plugging “The Train Tender,” but I always have a good experience with Jeff.

The above links show the later version with sintered drivers. The part number for the baldwin disk motor assembly is 675m-1. This motor was also used in 224 and 225 prewar locomotives. The early version will run smoother. I have both early and late versions if you can’t find one.
Ralph,
Jeff has become the “official” parts guy of this forum. I have dealt with many parts dealers, and Jeff is the best hands down. He really goes above and beyond to satisfy his customers. Great parts with even greater service.
Jim,
Are they still producing paper products in your neck of the woods?
My wife’s mother lives in Nanticoke, which I never heard of untill I met my wife, but then again I did see “Miracle Of The Bells”, which is based on facts of the area, and it takes place in and near Nanticoke, Penna., which is a coal mining town. My wife’s maternal grandfather was a coal miner and because of his slight stature, he would go into caveins to search for other miners, who were trapped.
Yes, Jeff Kane, even will, to a certain degree, custom build parts, as he did for me with certain coupler knuckles and assembly plates, with and without coupler opening tabs.
All of the items, I’ve purchased from Jeff, are of first rate quality materials and construction and he spends time explaining the products and their applications and if needed he’ll send assembly instructions.
He knows what part goes to what item and during what year the item was made, which calls for a particular part, so that the repaired item is as when originally made.
Take Care,
Ralph
Ralph,
I’ve never heard of Naticoke before, but there are many small towns in the area. There is a paper company in Washington county, but the name escapes me at the moment.
Jim,
Nanticoke is in the North-East portion of Pa., about ten miles South-West of Wilkes-Barre and both cities are South of both Pittston and Scranton.
“The Miracle Of the Bells”, copyright 1948, is factually based on a young actress from the Nanticoke area and the story and actual film locations are of, in and around Nanticoke.
A few famous people, who were from, or momentarily lived in Nanticoke:
1-The young actress that the movie is based on, I’m sorry I don’t know her name, maybe a forum member can supply her name;
2-Jerry Orbach the stage, screen and T.V. actor/singer;
3-Pete Gray who played Professional, Major League Baseball, with only one arm, during WWII.
