I have a passenger car (REA); manufacturer unknown. Does anyone have any idea as how to disassemble it? Looking at the third picture, there is a parting line just below the car number. There are no screws underneath the car. And, if you look at the bottom view of the car, you’ll notice that the truck screws are installed from the inside. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Since the forum will be down for maintenance over the weekend, please send any replies to my regular email address: m_medina@yahoo.com
It is athearn, it just pulls apart. I have a set of these that I just pulled apart to strip and repaint. It may be a little tight but just wiggle it a bit and it will come.
the car you are refering to is an Anthearn around late sixties or seventies I dont recall . that seam you see at the btm is how it comes apart.Grasp the top of the shell with one hand and the truck with the other and it should come apart. You may have to stick a tiny screw driver in the seam to spread it apart further .Goo

Thanks for the 4-1-1. The previous owner must have used some glue, but with some gentle persuasion, I was able to get it apart. THANKS GUYS. This is why I LOVE this forum!
