I was glancing through the new issue of MR in the store and saw a passenger car coupler (KD?) that mounts in a pivoting “draft gear box” for better performance through turns.Anyone see this? Anyone know if I can buy these couplers and boxes to put on my passenger cars? What mfg. makes these.
(I didn,t have time to read the whole article)
They already have those. Mount a Kadee #5 box but don’t tighten the screw all the way [:D]
Sorry…couldn’t resist. I’ve heard about these and am curious how well they work, since I have a small fleet of passenger cars and lots of curves.
This really caught my eye in the article. I would have bought it, but I’m waiting on my copy in the mail.(yea, some of my KD’s do that too.)
Hasn’t anybody seen these?
It’s the new BLI Zephyr passenger cars, a Kadee no 5 mounted in a swinging drawbar.
My Alcheapo Bachmann passenger cars, body mounted coupler boxes turn with the trucks, they work very well in the turns. These BLI ones are an upmarket version of the same thing.
Ken.
Anybody know if these are sold seperately. I’d like to mount these on my IHC’s.
