Passenger Car Upgrade

I have a fleet of MDC Harriman 60ft heavyweight cars which I selected as they look OK on my tight radius curves (610mm -2ft) but as they came , they looked a little bare.I made a pattern and cast seating for the interiors which made them look a little better and added weight. There is a gaping hole at each end of the cars where a corridor connection or diaphram should be. This has bugged me for some time and I have thought about manufacturing a suitable diaphram. Not an easy assignment I thought. But I picked up a copy of Walthers 2007 Catalogue (my first since 1997) and came across American Lines diaphrams, and they make one for the MDC Harriman coaches. So I sent off my order to Walthers and they arrived in record quick time, and I am now assembling the diaphrams, fixing 'em to the cars, and wow ! what an improvement they make. The cars look great, the diaphrams work, and fill in the void between the cars.Makes these budget coaches look like high ticket models.Good one American Lines. [:D]I’m happy.

Nice idea, now dose anyone make a simular interior upgrade for the mdc overtons???

I use the American Limited diaphragms myself, and really like 'em. They aren’t the most prototypical looking diaphragms in the world, but they work great!! I experimented with the Hi Teh Details, diaphragms, and still prefer the American Limiteds.
