I just began restoring my Lionel post war stuff that I had in storage since the mid 60’s. I got my Wabash 2367 F3 cleaned up and running great, but don’t have any passenger cars. Any suggestions on a car models that would go good with my Wabash??.
When I dream about the moonlight on the Wabash, How I long for my Indiana home.
Check out the William website for Wabash Passenger Cars http://www.williamstrains.com/HTML/TL_60madison.htm
Madison type of cars were used on the Wabash until the last train pulled out of the station.
You could always just use the Lionel 2500 series “Silver” cars. I think they look good with any F-3, and look pretty much like you would expect to see in real life.
As a follow-up to the 2500-series passenger car suggestion, Lionel thought they looked good with the 2367 AB units. Set 2244W, “The Sweetest Sight on Rails”, included -
2367 Wabash F3 AB
2530 REA baggage car
2533 Silver Cloud Pullman
2531 Silver Dawn observation
In addition to the Postwar versions, Lionel issued similar cars in 1996 (19165 4-car set).
If you want some nice looking cars, you may want to check out the MTH Wabash passenger cars from a few years ago. I am not sure how the paint would match up with the Post War Lionels, but it should be close.
Dennis.
Williams in their Golden Memories stuff makes the Lionel 2500 series copy aluminum cars in Wabash with a blue stripe and yellow Wabash Lettering. Looks great with a 2367. They have a four car set and a two car add on. I run them with a 2367 myself, You will not be disappointed, contact Marty at MA & PA trains or Just Trains
