So I was out in the front yard with the kids a little while ago and a passenger train went by – we usually get one a day in each direction past the house, but late night/early morning. The cars in this train were ALL completely covered up with some sort of silvery fabric. The cars which had windows had holes in the fabric covering so that the passengers could see out. There were two (I think) dome cars (that’s what they call the ones with a glass bubble kind of thing sticking out of the top, right?) and a number of other cars, and yes there were people on the train. It had a couple of signs reading “Rail Cruise America” on it, which is moderately self-explanatory.
But what I would like to know is why the cars were covered up like that? I doubt it was just that they were feeling modest…
