I am building an HO railroad and want to incorporate the B&O train station at Wheeling W.VA … I can not find any track plans or building plans.I am from there but railroad service ended long ago . Can anyone help me?
There was an article in MR magazine a few months back about prototypical passenger operations. It wasn’t specifically about that terminal, but it had a lot of useful general information about passenger stations and how they handled the trains.

Try the B&O Historical Society. http://www.borhs.org/

Seems to have a lot of info on the B&O but of course, you knew that already… Right [;)] ?
You may be able to locate the tracks or at least the right of way here,
http://www.terraserver-usa.com/image.aspx?t=1&s=14&x=163&y=1386&z=17&w=1&qs=|wheeling|west+virginia|
Just because the B&O doesn’t exist in name, doesn’t mean (or maybe it does) that the trackage is gone…
Or maybe you can find what you are looking for here… (copy and paste the whole thing into your browser location bar, I don’t know why it’s not All clickable)…

Good luck,
Wow–I have just started on the same thing. I was raised on 17th street and remember all of the steam and diesel operations. EM-1s and Q3-4s . The station had 4 tracks starting with a single track down 17th street. The switches were in the street and also went to the power plant and the Swift meat packing plant off to the right. There are some pictures of the station in “Fallen Flags” web site. (fallenflags.org) Also you can see pictures of the station in several articals the names of which I don’t have in front of me but will find them if your interested. The station is now a college (West Virgina Northern).
thank you all …info is great .Bob Lipstreu lipstreu2@aol
