Does anyone remember a layout that appeared some time back in MR of layout that was built in a bedroom and the guy installed a picture window so he could watch the layout from his living room/ I think it was located somewhere in Europe, but the guy was really into one of the US railroads. I’m looking for it and can’t seem to locate it in my back issues. I think it was HO. I’m also thinking it was July of 2005, since that’s the only issue I’m missing…
I remember that! It was about a year or so ago. He moved that layout to a new house too, didn’t he?
I’m sorry, I just moved so all my MMR mags are still in boxes, or I’d look it up. But I don’t know which one of the 25,000 boxes it’s in!
I think the one you are looking for is the July 2005 issue, page 56. It just so happens I was looking through this issue last night.
Can someone scan the trackplan and email it to me? It would be very much appreciated. I want to base an N scale layout on that plan with some features from other plans.
Usually what happens now is that one of the MR staff will come point out, quite rightly, that doing so would be copyright infringement and that it would be more appropriate to order a copy of that issue. But since I believe it’s about 10:30pm in Milwaukee, I’ll chime in and perhaps spare 'em the effort of doing so some time tomorrow morning.
I’m not some copyright vigilante, and I’ve not been shy about critiquing the magazine when I feel it merited; however, given that you liked the thing well enough to base a layout on it, and you used their forum to locate the issue in question, forking over the few bucks to get a “legit” copy is probably not excessive.
Just for the record, I already forked over the few bucks for a “legit” copy, and it has been misplaced. Thank you for your concern and comment. Guess you must have a lot of time on your hands, huh?
Like it or not, he’s 100% correct.
