Hi,
Today I went fishing in the patapsco river on the CSX old main line, i knew that trains ran through there, but today I was in for a treat…
When I thought today would be a quiet fishing trip, would be a loud, noisy, and awesome trip. I saw 3 trains on the the old mainline, first a mixed freight with 4 locomotives, a Dash 8-40cw sx conrail quality leading. Then later a 2 unit coal train lead by a SD50 csx yn3, leading. Then a mixed freight as i was leaving i believe it was a AC6000 leading 2 units. I couldn’t really see the last one due to a car wreck on the brigde the police wouldn’t let anyone though. Sadly after this, I couldn’t get any pictures, I was in the water fishing in waders, I only had my cell phone but no got pictures on it. Is this encounter common, alot of people say its rare to even see a train come through here. I was only there for 3 hours and saw the first 2 within 45mins of each other.
