Pausing some projects

After about a month of being unable to easily get parts or even work on the project, I think I’m going to pause the GF6, the crane, and a lot of my major kitbash projects so I can focus on getting the layout back up and running. I also can’t find an airbrush or get parts easily. I also need to spend some serious time getting a proper model table and paintbooth set up.

Still going to be active on the forums to design the layout

TL,DR: pausing a lot of projects to get stuff in order

I would absolutely get the layout running first. Once the layout is in condition where trains can run you will probably feel more motivation to work on other projects.

What you’re describing is probably what a lot of modelers go through – I know I have done that several times.

The hobby involves so many facets that sometimes the entire project gets put on the back burner while other projects need to be finished.

Good luck and keep us informed. :+1:

That is a shame. I often have the same experience nowadays. Back in the day, when I had 3 LHS within easy driving distance, that never happened.

Anyone have recommendations for tools needed?

Even though there are lots of tools needed for model railroading, surprisingly for me, the cordless DeWalt drill/driver has been used more than any other tool, including the Exacto knife.

Probably shouldn’t say it but created a lot of hands-on modeling time by cutting back the hours spent wandering aimlessly through web forums.
