What is this train worth?

Whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

Note that you have provided effectively NO information. To give a meaningful answer:

  1. What scale?
  2. What gauge? (Standard, or one of several possible narrows.)
  3. What condition?
  4. Original box? (Believe it or not, this is important to collectors.)
  5. As-built, or modified with additional/changed details?

Please note that I have no dog in this hunt. None of the railroads I model ever had a Shay, so I don’t see a need to buy one. (I’m an operator, not a collector.)
