Thursday January 25th, 9:00 PM. Channel 9 PBS San Francisco
PBS Channel 9 from San Francisco is scheduled to show a one hour program featuring " The Most Beautiful Train in the World" , the Daylight and other trains/. The previews look good.
Does anyone know what happened to this? From KQED-TV’s website:
8pm cancel Rockies by Rail
9pm cancel Daylight: The Most Beautiful Train
10pm cancel Alaska?s Gold Rush Train
(no new airdates in mind for these programs at this time)
8pm add Perilous Fight: America?s World War II in Color #103-104
10pm add B-17: Flying Legend
I had asked a friend in the S.F. Bay Area to add those shows to his TiVo wishlist. I think the station deserves a few phone calls for this programming decision. I’ve listed their contact info below if you want to shoot them an e-mail or give them a phone call:
Perils of local programming, as I write, here on PBS I’m watch the Great Train Journeys Coast Starlight episode, so go figure…guess there arent enough train nuts in the bay area.
I got a pretty fast response from KQED after e-mailing them:
[i]We aired part 1 of a 2-part history program last Thursday, but our program director just plain forgot to schedule part 2. When we realized this last Friday, he made a last-minute program substitution for tonight. We apologize for the disappointment.
None of the train shows originally scheduled for tonight have other airdates between now and the end of February, which is as far as our schedule is currently planned. You might want to add your email address to our “Travel” email interest list, which gets twice-monthly alerts regarding programs of possible appeal, so that you can keep an eye out for future broadcasts.
