Hello
I am not sure if this is the right forum for this question[:I]but I would like to know if anyone knows about any other PC train games besides 3DLionel Traintown since I already have that for my children. My children are really facinated with trains and train games.I would like to know if there any other games anyone could suggest including any free games or online game sites with train games.
Thank you kindly[
Welcome to the forum, onric! [#welcome]
You might want to try the trains.com forums, but I can help. There aren’t many free games, but there are several train PC programs, for both kids and adults:
Railroad Tycoon 1,2, and 3 (PopTop)
Trans-Con! (Lionel)
Train Simulator (Microsoft)
Trainz (Auran)
Train-Master/Rail Driver (Raildriver)
That’s all I can think of at the moment, but there are many more.
a setup on the floor.(my personal favorite)
I like railroad tycoon 3. Its a great game of “rail baron” strategy that I really like alot. Its got some cool graphics as well.
Thanks a lot,I will be checking those out.
My sons like the floor setup too,I have not gone beyond the two cheap train sets but I have many requests from them for more sturdy trains so I will have to invest in some.I have been looking at model trains myself.
When they give me the chance I like to play lionel train town.I am just as facinated with trains.
That’s a good list, but I have one you missed. Rails Across America. There’s an old one called A-train, but I’m not sure if that one is still around.
I’m sure all of these titles are rated E for everyone, but some of the games are too complicated for very young children. Still fun to watch though.[:)]
Oops, thought of another one. Lego has a train program that is great for the youngest kids.
what they should make is a lionel traintown TMCC style. It could act as a tutorial for TMCC. They could have more realistic track(in there its two rail), real exsisting accesories such as the barrel loader and coal loader. and more real lionel locos.
They could also have a train shop in there where you would have to buy your trains. You would get the money by making a cool layout my the computers classificaton. You can also get money my doing complicated moves and stunts with the Cab-1.
There would be a virtual year(s), which would equal to about 10hrs playing it. each year there would be Christmas, and there would be a “surprise box” where the computer would reandomly give you a train, from a straight track to a acela.
You will have a choice beetween conventional and command, which is more complicated. you even have to buy the wire, terminals, lockons and such.
The cd-rom would come with a imitation cab 1 that would hook up to the computer with a usb1 cable.
Yet another great idea from Jerry…(not being sarcastic)
Big Boy: The Lego program is called Lego Loco, and yes, A-Train was another one. Check this out:
Hello again
Is it possible to email them and suggest that?
Angela
You can e-mail Lionel at
Cool, I didn’t know it was available for Play Station. My version is very old. It was originally done by Maxis, the Sim City people. We have 2 copies of Lego Loco here in the house, but I couldn’t remember the name.[swg]
