Measuring an impressive 322mm (12 11/16 inches) long, this keenly anticipated turnout will be welcomed by all modellers of North American railroads. This is the longest turnout in this scale, and gauge, that PECO have ever produced, and will provide the means to create some very realistic track formations. Delivery to your model shop is anticipated by mid-September 2006.
I sure wish those had been available last Winter when I was laying Peco code 83 track on my home layout, because I sure could have used a couple of them instead of the #6’s. Unfortunately, I had no way of knowing when the #8’s would ever hit the market.
Finally, when they anounced a couple of months ago that they would be releasing them in September I thought here we go again. I bought 10 # 6’s and 8 #5’s for my layout about 1 1/2 years ago and they were saying “coming soon # 8’s”. Well I guess this is what soon means to Peco. I was tempted to order another brand, but I like to keep things uniform, alot easier to troubleshoot if they are all the same brand. I will order 16 of them in electrofrog and maybe more later depending on wether I want to expand my layout or not.
