When I got home from the LHS, I discovered that the rails had shifted. They stick out one inch on one end and the ties stick out one inch on the other. I have tried to slip them back but no joe at all.
Is there a trick to doing this?

Hold the track vertically with the rails that are “too long” resting on a firm surface.
Grasp the bottom ties in your fist and gently ease the ties down about half an inch.
Move your fist up and then ease the next group of ties down.
Repeat this until you reach the top of the track.
Grasp the ties at the bottom again and ease them down, then repeat until the ties are in the correct position.
Be careful when pressing down with a handful of ties, you don’t want to bend the rails and you don’t want to release the rails from the spikes!

That’s one of the things that I don’t like about Peco flex track.
That would not be a problem with Atlas Code 83 flex track.
Rich
That worked Trevor. Thanks.
And, yes, I did not have this problem with Atlas either.
What’s interesting is that with the 5 pieces of Peco flex I have layoing on my table, after I put the ties all back on centered with equal amounts of rail sticking out each side - after not touching the track for a week, it’s back to sticking out one side and not the other.
It DOES happen with Atlas - just only with one rail, since only one rail can slide, the other is fixed.
Considering most peices need to be trimmed to length, I don’t see this as that big a deal, considering I get the ability to make smooth curves like Atlas with the finer appearance of ME. And why no one else has ever done what Peco has done with their turnouts - the end ties are fully there, just undercut to allow a joiner to slip under. Even have the spikes. Unlike that oddball ugly rectangle at the ends of Atlas.

Randy, quit yelling at me. [(-D]
Sure it happens, but as I said before, it is not a problem. It is a lot easier to restore the rail positions on Atlas than it is with Peco.
And that’s the truth. [:P]

None of my code 83 electrofrog turnouts have undercut ties Randy. I wish they did!!
If they are Peco they do.
