Peco Loco Lift

Anyone ever use one of these? If so, how well did it work.

I have a pair of them. I don’t use them often. You need at least 15", possibly 2 feet, of straight unobstructed track to run your loco onto. It does have nice soft but firm sides for picking up. I think it’s ideal for fiddle yards and such. If you have the straight track, it works just like they say.

Can you use them on ballasted track and can you hook them together to use them?

The loco lift will work on ballasted track, as long as you have a couple of inches clear each side of the track with no scenery sticking up.
They don’t have a provision for joining lengthwise, but you might be able to do it with some bolts. They do stack. Length is about a foot so it fits almost all British OO steam locos except the Beyer-Garatts.

I like them and just ordered 2 more. Faster & easier to carry steam without damaging details. Only wi***he contact area was nickel silver instead of copper, but no problems so far (1 year).
