So, I looked online for Peco Code 55 N scale track templates, and one company called www.sodigi.com has them. I printed them out, they were life size (well, scale model life size [:p]) and planned my layout using them. However, when I went to price them online I had trouble. I want to use the code 55 (which I know is still code 80 rail, just sunk in) electrofrog turnouts. The problem is this: Southern Digital called them “small,” “medium,” and “large” radius turnouts, and that is what I have heard in the past regarding the nomenclature for Peco turnouts. But when I went to buy them at Standard Hobby, and when I looked at Walthers, they had Peco listed as #4, #6, #8, and so on.

Did Peco change its naming system from “small / medium / large” to using actual frog numbers?

For all planning purposes, is a #4 equivelant (about) to a “small,” a #6 equivelant to a “medium,” and so on? I can shift stuff around a bit if they are close, but if a #6 is equal to a “small” or other big differences then I need templates for the new system.

Everyone understand? I know I have had some weird questions lately regarding this, but N scale is new to me so I thought I better ask. Thanks in advance for all your help! [:)]
