Peco turnout wiring question

I have the Frog juicer and have run my Peco frog wire to all six connections. I have a seventh turnout. What do I do with the thin uninsulated wire coming out of the bottom? As I said the other 6 are wired to the juicer.

Moses,

A word of advice. Since you are building the Virginian, you should post questions like these in the Virginian thread, otherwise people will have no context. You can do this by going to the Virginian thread and just hit “reply” to the last post.

As to your question. If you have followed the turnouts listed for the Virginian, you should only have 6 Peco #5 electrofrogs. This means you have put a 7th one somewhere. Please let us know where they are.

In any case, all is not lost, since you obviously do not have any more connections on the frog juicer, but it will be more tricky. You need a way to reverse the polarity of the frog when you switch the turnout. The easiest way for you is to buy a mono frog juicer from Tam Valley to power the extra turnout. This will cost you about $14. Alternatively you will need to wire your ground throw to switch the polarity. I am not an expert at that so will let others answer how you would do that.

Cheers,

Steve
